BIO: 

 

CARA IS A HOUSTON BASED ARTIST WORKING IN OIL AND ACRYLIC ON LARGE CANVAS. HER WORK IS HEAVILY TEXTURED WITH MULTIPLE LAYERS OF PAINT, AND SPECIAL ATTENTION GIVEN TO THE LAYERING OF LINE AND COLOR AT THE SURFACE. SHE DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM STUDYING THE WORK OF JOAN MITCHELL, HELEN FRANKENTHALER, MARK ROTHKO, CY TWOMBLY, AND OSCAR MURILLO. TEACHING ART OVER THE YEARS HAS GIVEN CARA THE OPPORTUNITY TO DELVE INTO ART HISTORY WHICH HAS BEEN INFLUENTIAL IN HELPING HER SHAPE HER OWN UNIQUE STYLE OF PAINTING.
